Biography
Patrycja Zenker holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She has also completed training in crisis intervention and postgraduate studies in addiction psychology and suicidology. Her focus lies in mental health, particularly crisis intervention, emotion regulation, and supporting people through challenging life phases.
For many years, she worked in a large international company, where she led a team and helped design personal development programs. She was associated with the Barka Foundation in Poznań for almost a decade, supporting people in life crises and contributing to the establishment of social enterprises. Currently, she works in a mental health center, where she provides patient care and leads both a counselling service and a team for community-based care.
She draws inspiration in part from the work of Dr. Edith Eger, Auschwitz survivor, psychologist, and author of The Choice, which demonstrates that freedom is an inner decision possible even under the most extreme circumstances, and that healing begins with facing the truth—and with the choice to continue moving forward despite pain, with love and tenderness toward oneself.
Her deepest influence, however, comes from working with Barbara and Tomasz Sadowski of the Barka Foundation. They taught her that in building relationships, it is crucial to see the good in others—even when it is deeply hidden beneath survival mechanisms shaped by difficult experiences. They showed that healing and personal growth are reciprocal processes that unfold in daily life—at the table, in the garden, in conversation, simply by being together.
In her personal life, she enjoys cooking, swimming, driving, immersing herself in music, and appreciating the landscapes she loves: cranes in the fields, waves crashing against rocks, and the moon over her terrace in Sorvilán.
