Biography
Bartosz Pawlak has been associated with the Barka Foundation since 2010, initially as a volunteer. He completed internships in Barka projects in the United Kingdom and Ireland, supporting migrants from Central and Eastern Europe.
He studied at Hacettepe University in Ankara and completed his degree in Philosophy with a focus on Public Life at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
Currently, he serves as Operations Director of the Barka Foundation in Poland, Head of the Centre for Social Integration, and Senior Advisor for the project Wielkopolskie Centrum Ekonomii Solidarnej (“Greater Poland Centre for Solidarity Economy”). He is also responsible for fundraising and in-kind donations to support the statutory activities of the Foundation, as well as for Barka investment projects.
His previous work includes serving as a specialist in establishing and supporting local partnerships. He was also supervisor and chairperson of the social cooperative “Wspólny Stół” (“Common Table”). Additionally, he participated in international projects (ECO RESTAURATEUR, INNO-WISE, SKY) supporting socially marginalized individuals.
Bartosz is not only a board member of Barka e.V., but also of several other associations, including Barka Netherlands and the School for Social Animation. He is a member of the Social Employment Council at the Polish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, and participates in two ministry working groups: one on the collaboration of social employment providers with social economy support centers, and another on social employment at the Regional Centre for Social Policy.
