Maria believes that everyone has the right to a safe and dignified life. For this reason, she volunteers with Barka e.V., an organization that supports people in insecure circumstances through a holistic approach that takes individual needs into account and respects the dignity of every person.

As part of her voluntary work, she supports Barka in communications, social media, and fundraising.
